This Thursday, the Technical Secretariat for Electoral Administration (STAE) in Nampula province gave a positive assessment of the general elections.
To this end, the Director of STAE in that province, Luís Cavalo, made use of the fact that the institution had managed to place all 4746 polling stations in their respective polling stations, which all opened on time at 7am on Wednesday.
"The process went normally. Citizens went to the tables to exercise their civic duty. At 6pm, the tables closed and the partial tabulation process began," said Luís Cavalo, quoted by "O País." He stressed that the partial processing had ended and that, by Thursday, the process of transporting the material from the polling stations to the District STAE had begun.
The head of STAE in Nampula also said that he had followed an incident in the Nacala district on social media, in which a citizen was accused of transporting previously voted ballots. With regard to this case, she said that the process was being handled by the justice authorities.
