The PODEMOS presidential candidate, Venâncio Mondlane, received the most votes in the city of Beira, winning a total of 44,34% of the votes cast by voters in the country's second largest city.
According to the results released this Sunday by the Provincial Electoral Commission, Daniel Chapo, Frelimo's presidential candidate was the second most voted, having won 37,65% of votes, followed by MDM leader Lutero Simango with 15,91%.
According to the Terra MagazineOssufo Momade was the least voted, with only 2.11% votes.
For the legislative elections, the results went in a different direction. Frelimo won the majority, totaling 36.77% of votes, followed by MDM, the party that runs that municipality, with 26.39%. PODEMOS came third with 25.47% and Renamo came fourth with just 5.37%.
The remaining parties were below 1% of the total votes cast.
