A judge in the state of Maine, in the United States of America, this Wednesday suspended the decision to classify former President Donald Trump as ineligible in that American state for the presidential elections in November of this year.
Trump is still awaiting the Supreme Court's decision on a similar case in the state of Colorado.
Donald Trump's defense is trying to prove in court that the politician can run in the November presidential elections in the US state of Maine.
This comes after the secretary of state's office, responsible for organizing the elections, decided two months ago that Trump would not appear on the ballot because he was linked to the attack on the Capitol in 2021.
This Wednesday, the judge in the case suspended the Maine secretary's decision, with instructions to wait for the Supreme Court's decision, and also denied Trump's request to suspend the process.
According to the international press, Maine's decision to disqualify Trump from running for President of the United States followed the position of the Colorado Supreme Court, which in December ruled that the Republican tycoon is ineligible for the presidency in that state.
The US Supreme Court has agreed to examine the case and has even scheduled a hearing for February 8th.
