Local elections: More than 53,000 voters are due to vote again this Sunday

Eleições Autárquicas: Mais de 53 mil eleitores devem votar novamente este domingo

The spokesman for the National Electoral Commission (CNE), Paulo Cuinica, said on Friday that more than 53,000 voters were due to return to their polling stations to choose their legislators.

The voting process will be repeated this Sunday (10) in four municipalities, namely Nacala-Porto, in Nampula province; Gurué and Milange, in Zambézia province; and in Marromeu, in Sofala province.

In Nacala-Porto 12,893 voters are expected; in Gurué 8,747; in Milange 2,397; and in Marromeu 29,433 voters.

The decision to repeat the elections was issued by the Constitutional Council (CC), and should be partial in Nacala-Porto, Gurué and Milange. In Marromeu, the process will take place throughout the municipality.

According to Cuinica, the conditions are in place in all the municipalities for the ballot to take place normally.

The partial tabulation will take place on the same day, with the intermediate tabulation taking place three days after the vote, on the 13th. The provincial centralization will take place five days after the vote.

The national centralization and general tabulation takes place 15 days after the vote, followed by the announcement of the results by the CNE. The results are then sent to the CC for validation.
