Local elections: Frelimo wins in Nacala Porto with 91%. Renamo says votes were invented

Eleições autárquicas: Frelimo ganha em Nacala Porto com 91%. Renamo diz que votos foram inventados

According to the parallel tabulation carried out by the Mais Integridade Electoral Consortium, based on the notices of 18 tables in Nacala Porto, Frelimo won with 91% (3,227 votes), against 6.2% (221 votes) for Renamo, and 2.5% (89 votes) for the MDM.

Meanwhile, reacting to the results of this morning's rerun of the local elections, Renamo in Nacala Porto said that no member of their party went to vote and that the votes counted and published were invented.

"Nobody went to vote, the polling stations were empty. How did they get those votes?" asked the current mayor and Renamo list leader in Nacala Porto, pointing out that "our members didn't go to vote".

"This proves that once again the elections were rigged. But I know I won," said Raúl Novinte.

Novinte criticized the way the elections in Nacala are usually held, with the police intimidating the population.

"They are confused with threats and intimidation. I'm asking the relevant authorities not to put more police in the stations. Because the PRM serve to threaten and steal votes.

The people know who they voted for and now we leave justice in their hands. The people know that Frelimo snatched victory," he concluded.

It should be noted that 3,694 of the 12,893 registered voted, which represents a participation rate of 28.7% and an abstention rate of 71.3%.
