Eduardo Samo Gudo elected chair of CDC Africa Regional Technical Advisory committee

The deputy director-general of the National Institute of Health (INS), Eduardo Samo Gudo, was elected chairman of the Regional Technical Advisory Committee of the African Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC Africa) for Southern Africa.

The election for a two-year term took place this Tuesday in Maputo, during the III meeting of the Committee, which brought together directors of Public Health Institutes and public health experts from the countries of the region.

Samo Gudo succeeds Dr. Tsakani Furumele from South Africa, who chaired the committee for the last two years.

Upon taking office, Samo Gudo highlighted the region's public health challenges and acknowledged the role of the previous president, pledging to continue his legacy and contribute to the consolidation of the body.
