Mozambican sprinter Edmilsa Governo will not take part in the 400m T13 (visually impaired) event at the Paris-2024 Paralympic Games tonight due to injury, the athlete announced on social media (Facebook)..
"I'm injured, I won't be able to enter the race this time (400m). I'm under intensive care until this leg gets better, God willing until the next competitions and the Paralympics in Los Angeles. I'm fine, don't worry, but I pray to God for a speedy improvement, because it's normal for any athlete, because an injury doesn't define who you are or where you're capable of going, without further ado thank you to all the supporters, see you soon!" she wrote.
According to Challenge newspaperThis is the first time Edmilsa has missed the Paralympic Games, after competing in Rio de Janeiro in 2016, where she won the bronze medal, and Tokyo-2020 respectively.
