Electricidade de Moçambique (EDM) warns that the electricity supply will be interrupted today in some neighborhoods of Maputo city.

The power cut will affect the neighborhoods of Sommerschield, part of Triunfo, Polana Caniço 'A' and 'B' and Maxaquene 'C'.

In a statement, the company justifies the measure with the need to carry out work to reinforce the electricity grid due to the expansion of the city.

"EDM is expanding its electricity supply network, with the aim of strengthening and improving the quality of the network, due to the exponential growth of the City and Province of Maputo," it reads.

The interruption may take place for 10h00, from 06h00 to 16h00.
