The Ministry of Transport and Communications has approved a decree banning the movement of cargo trucks carrying minerals on National Road number 4 (E4) during peak traffic hours.
According to Notícias, the decree banning lorries was published recently, and emphasizes the ban on the Tchumene-Malhampsene stretches, between 06:00 and 08:00 and 16:00 and 18:00, from Monday to Friday.
This road traffic management measure does not cover fuel and perishable goods trucks.
A joint team from the National Road Transport Institute (INATRO) and the Police of the Republic of Mozambique was deployed to observe and enforce compliance with the decree.
The measures may, however, be relaxed depending on road conditions during their implementation.
