Former US President Donald Trump has been found guilty on 34 counts of falsifying documents to hide a sex scandal.
The judge has decided that the sentence will be read on July 11, days before the Republicans formally choose Donald Trump as their presidential candidate.
The New York prosecutor's office alleged that the 45th president of the United States (2017-2021) was guilty of falsifying the accounting documents of his group of companies, the Trump Organization, to hide a payment to a pornographic film actress to avoid a sex scandal at the end of the 2016 presidential campaign.
Reacting to the jury's verdict as he left court in New York, Trump repeated his accusations against the judge and the case, arguing that the "real verdict" will be handed down by voters in the November elections.
For its part, the Biden campaign reacted by saying that "no one is above the law" and repeating the argument that the ballot will be the ultimate decision.
Donald Trump's lawyer has announced that he will appeal "as soon as possible" the conviction on Thursday (30.05) of the former President of the United States.
"In New York, the procedure says: you know the sentence, then you appeal," said Toddy Blanche.
