Hidden Debts: Court discusses attachment of assets of 11 co-defendants today

The Court holds a special adversarial session today to discuss the Public Prosecutor's request to seize more than 60 properties and 50 parcels from 11 co-defendants in the hidden debts case.

Postponed last Monday due to the lack of notification of the co-defendants' lawyers about the matter under analysis, the session is now taking place with the targeted co-defendants, namely António Carlos do Rosário, Gregório Leão, Ângela Leão, Teófilo Nhangumele, Renato Matusse, Inês Moiane, Cipriano Mutota, Armando Ndambi Guebuza, Fabião Mabunda, Bruno Langa, and Zulficar Ahmed, the others having been excused.

The Public Ministry moves to seize the said assets on the grounds that there is sufficient evidence and proof that they were acquired with part of the 2.2 billion dollars that harmed the state. Likewise, the action aims to recover the money that the State suffered from the illegal loans granted to PROINDICUS, EMATUM and MAM.
