The National Education System's free textbooks have already started arriving in the country, two weeks before the start of the 2023 school year.
There are a total of 18,786,900 textbooks for all primary education, both monolingual and bilingual, and so far around five million have been received and are in the process of being distributed, said Feliciano Mahalambe, spokesman for the Ministry of Education and Human Development (MINEDH).
According to the source, who is also director-general of the National Institute for Examinations, Certification and Equivalences (INECE), the remaining materials should arrive in the country within the next few days. It should be noted that classes officially start on January 31st.
