The introduction of digital systems for issuing documents by the National Migration Service (SENAMI) has made it possible to make customer service more flexible and to reduce levels of corruption by eliminating intermediaries.
Now, with digitalization, appointments for passport and visa applications can be made remotely, without the need to travel to SENAMI, Consulates and Diplomatic Missions.
"Now we're betting on a change in mentality and behavior, because not everyone keeps to the scheduled time. There are people who arrive late, that is, after the scheduled time, forcing us to make arrangements so that no one is left out," said SENAMI's Director General, on the sidelines of his inauguration.
On the occasion, the Minister of the Interior, Arsénia Massingue, invited the newly sworn in, Felizardo Furruma, to coordinate his work with the collective of agents in order to continuously evaluate their performance, as well as the appointment system.
"Invest in the continuous training of staff, taking into account technological advances, which must be accompanied for the effective and efficient execution of work and innovation in serving the public," she said, quoted by the News.
