The Secretary of State in Niassa, Lina Portugal, had high expectations of the event, hoping that it would serve to quell the frequent complaints from the population about the poor performance of lawyers.

"We hope that the event will be able to present technical-legal discussions around the responsibilities of lawyers towards the community and their constituents, given that the population is complaining about the lack and/or poor quality of legal assistance," he said.

The event was held as part of the OAM's 30th anniversary celebrations.
