Citizens arrested with lion's claws and teeth

Detidos cidadãos com garras e dentes de leão

This week, the National Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC) arrested two citizens in possession of lion's teeth and claws in the district of Nhamatanda, Sofala province.

Given the quantities, it is presumed that the claws and teeth were extracted from a single animal.

During the arrest of the two accused, one managed to escape.

One of the accused said that he had been in possession of the trophies for around four months, and that they had been given to him by a friend, who is now deceased.

He confessed that he had already found a buyer for the tooth claws.

In addition to the trophies, seven cell phones were found in the possession of the individuals, who have now been returned to their rightful owners.
