The provincial director of the Office for Combating Corruption (GCC) in Nampula revealed on Monday that 13 civil servants had been arrested, four of them in the act of committing corruption.
The GC C in Nampula also serves the province of Cabo Delgado and, between January and November, registered 131 cases. In addition to these, 40 were carried over from last year. The crimes of passive corruption for illicit purposes, embezzlement and abuse of office or function stand out. Most of the cases involve the education sector, the police and the municipal council.
Of the total number of cases registered, 129 were concluded, 78 of which were indicted and sent to the courts via the prosecutors' offices.
