The Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC) arrested a Guinean citizen from Guinea Conakry in Marracuene, Maputo province, on charges of exchange trafficking.
SERNIC investigated the citizen for a week, "Notícias" reports, quoting the spokesman for the corporation in Maputo, Henrique Mendes.
The police received a tip-off that the detainee was in possession of illicit substances. He intended to sell them to a citizen living in South Africa at a price of 230,000 meticais.
When the substances were analyzed, it was confirmed that it was methamphetamine.
The accused refutes the accusations and told the police it was soda.
