The National Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC) has arrested a couple in the Vieira neighborhood of Nampula province who are accused of trying to sell three children, including their two sons, one eight years old and the other one and a half years old. The other child, aged seven, was kidnapped by the couple's wife on August 20, in the Natikiri neighborhood, according to her husband, the brothers' stepfather.
The couple intended to profit around three million meticais from trafficking minors. The prices ranged from 800,000 meticais to one million meticais for each of the victims.
In connection with the case, the woman's brother, who owned the house in the Natiquiri neighborhood where the children were waiting for a buyer to arrive, was also arrested.
