Ivone Soares, a member of parliament and a senior member of the Renamo party, said that the country needs to be re-founded, rebuilt, something that, according to her, will not happen without the active participation of civil society.
Ivone Soares, who was speaking to the television channel Media Mais TV, says that the opposition has been doing its part over time. "You can't expect Renamo to always take up arms to decide the life of the country, to force Frelimo to listen to us. What role do you (civil society) play?" she asked.
The source went further and accused civil society of collaborating to perpetuate illegalities in voter registration processes.
"When they try to march, tear gas is thrown at them, but then when it's time to register, they accept being used to register clandestinely in their homes," he said.
