Members of Parliament will contribute one day of their salaries to support the victims of the floods in the country.
This was announced on Wednesday morning by the president of parliament, Esperança Bias, in her speech at the opening of the seventh ordinary session of the legislative body.
Esperança Bias said that as a result of the floods during the current rainy season and the effects of climate change, at least 95 people have lost their lives.
Overall, according to Bias, the floods are affecting more than 100,000 people, especially in the city and province of Maputo, Manica, Zambézia and Niassa, which are experiencing road traffic restrictions.
