The Ministry of Economy and Finance revealed that during the first half of this year, external financing of the budget deficit, through credits or donations, reached 22 billion meticais. This corresponds to 16.4% of the annual forecast.

O News, which cites the institution, writes that there has been a balance in the mobilization of funds through loans and donations.

External disbursements in the form of credits amounted to 12.5 billion meticais (41.7%) and donations to 10 billion meticais (9.3%) of the annual forecast. Last year, funding from donations reached 66 billion meticais, corresponding to a realization of 86%, compared to forecasts.

The government forecasts total expenditure of 542.7 billion meticais, corresponding to 35.5% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and a fiscal deficit of 159.2 billion meticais.

Domestically, the Economic and Social Plan and the State Budget are being implemented in a context in which the national economy continues to show signs of recovery.
