The President of the Mozambican National Resistance (Renamo), Ossufo Momade, complained about the slow demobilization, disarmament and reintegration (DDR) process of party members.
The claim was made this Monday during the third session of the Renamo National Council, which had not been held since 2019, when Momade assumed the party presidency.
According to Ossufo Momade, the delay occurs "in fixing pensions and allocating economic projects, in allocating land for housing construction, and in framing the officers selected to join the ranks of the Police of the Republic of Mozambique.
The DDR process has already covered 3486 former guerrillas out of the expected 5221.
