Portuguese coach Daúto Faquirá, who even has Mozambican roots, has guaranteed that he will remain in charge of Ferroviário da Beira in order to win the title again.
The Ferroviário da Beira club announced at the weekend that Daúto Faquirá will coach the first team for the 2024 season.
"[The plan] wasn't to go to Mozambique when the invitations came. I lost my father a year ago and I know it would be important for him too, because he never left his home country. I'm going to the country I was born in, which I love, and I hope to contribute in some way to Mozambican soccer," he said.
With regard to Ferroviário da Beira, the experienced coach has a clear objective: "We're going to try to win the title again and create conditions so that it's not a one-off thing. Conditions for the club to win more often than it has."
Quoted by the Portuguese website Zero Zero, Daúto Faquirá also said that he should be arriving in Mozambique in the middle of this month, after playing for clubs such as Torreense, SC Covilhã, 1º de Agosto (Angola), Olhanense, Vitória FC and Estrela da Amadora.
