CTA promete pagar mais de 26 milhões de meticais à CMondego

Recently, thelitigation between the Confederation of Economic Associations of Mozambique - CTA and Construtora Mondego (CMondego) on the non-payment of sums for the construction of buildings called Casa dos Empresários, in the provinces of Inhambane and Gaza (Xai-xai).

In May 2023, CMondego started a declaratory judgment action against CTA demanding the payment of more than 26 million meticais.

CTA has not received notification of the seizure of its headquarters

However, the CTA felt that CMondego's work did not correspond to the amount charged.

The case has already caused a lot of ink to run in the Maputo City Court and no decision has yet been handed down.

"Considering that the enforcement process has been conducted in a manner detrimental to the interests of CTA, which has already filed an incident of provision of security to suspend the enforcement, the board of CTA, while awaiting the decision of the Supreme Court, decided to pay the amount requested by Grupo Mondego," reads a statement from CTA sent to the newspaper MZNews.
