The Muslim community says that there is a lack of dialogue between the Frelimo government and the people. It has asked the government and the Frelimo party to have more dialogue with the people, to avoid tension in the country.
The request was made yesterday during an audience granted in Maputo by the President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, to discuss possible solutions for ending the post-election crisis.
"We would like Frelimo to change its behavior and have more dialogue with the people. There is a great lack of dialog between our leaders and the Mozambican people," said Nazir Loonat, a representative of the country's Muslim community.
The community has also asked the Constitutional Council to be more flexible in releasing the results of the last general elections on October 9.
"The Constitutional Council must hurry to declare the election results, it must see the complaints in order to solve the problem that exists in the country. The Constitutional Council must have the evidence to say that this or that person won the elections, without favoring anyone. Justice must prevail," said the representative of the Muslim community.
For his part, the President of the Republic lamented the deaths of civilians and police officers, as well as the destruction of various infrastructures, including party headquarters and electoral institutions.
