The city of Maputo gains another tourist attraction today with the inauguration of a new mural painted by national artists, on Av. Marginal on the retaining wall near the Alcântara Santos viaduct.
The mural, the result of a collaboration between Khuzula and the artists Sebastião Coana, Butcheca, Chris, Pokito, Left Hand and Psiconautah, will be inaugurated today at 12 noon by the mayor of Maputo, Eneas Comiche, as part of the Maputo City Day celebrations and aims to enrich the local art scene.
The main aim of the initiative is to create more tourist attractions in the city, promoting even more cultural exchanges and strengthening the narrative behind the idea of making Maputo a creative city.
The mural is the second phase of this important mission, following the inauguration of another mural in homage to the iconic musicians, Fany Pfumo, Madala and Zena Bacar on the pillars of the Alcântara Santos Viaduct.
With the aim of transforming urban spaces and stimulating creativity through art, this project seeks to delight and inspire both visitors and the local population. The work of the artists involved bears unique traits and diverse artistic expressions, resulting in a multicultural and captivating work of art.
The mural will be unveiled today at 12 noon on the retaining wall of the Marginal Avenue, near the Alcântara Santos Viaduct.
The event will be attended by the artists and local authorities. There will also be the opportunity to take exclusive images of the artwork.
This project is proof of Khuzula's commitment to promoting culture and art as an important tool for development and tourism.
We hope that this new mural will become a landmark in the city and attract visitors from all over the world, enriching the cultural experience and strengthening Maputo's position as a creative destination.
It should be noted that a memorandum of understanding was recently signed between the City Council and Khuzula, which calls for various activities to be carried out and for the creation of a cultural and tourist dynamic in the city of Maputo to be targeted, a fact that is justified by the creative activities that are carried out in the city.
