Covid-19: Angola maintains pre-shipment test requirement for entries into the country

The Angolan government has updated prevention measures against covid-19, maintaining the requirement for pre-departure testing carried out up to 48 hours before departure, but testing on arrival at Luanda airport will no longer take place this Saturday at 00:00.

Presidential Decree No. 241/22, which updates the measures and abolishes the Commission responsible for managing the pandemic, went into effect this Saturday.

Among the novelties is the end of the mandatory use of face mask, except in health units, pharmacies, and events likely to cause large gatherings.

Departures from Angola require the presentation of a full vaccination certificate, a requirement that extends to entries into the national territory.

In the case of entries, it is also mandatory to submit a SARS CoV-2 virus test with a negative result.

The measures were presented on Friday by the Minister of State and head of the Military House of the President of the Republic, Francisco Furtado, who, on the occasion, addressed only the exits from the territory.

Angola totals 102,294 confirmed cases, of which 101,324 recovered, and 1,917 deaths.
