The link between the provinces of Nampula and Cabo Delgado, in the north of the country, has been cut again.
The news, reported by the newspaper "O Pais", indicates that the link, which was used to facilitate traffic, collapsed this Saturday, a week after it was replaced.
This is an investment included in the 700 million meticais budget for the replacement of the bridge and the construction of a temporary detour, with a view to facilitating the connection between Nampula and Cabo Delgado, crossing the Monapo River, where the main bridge was destroyed by the flow of water after heavy rains in the north of the country.
The measure was a relief for road users, who were prevented from continuing their journeys, but their happiness was short-lived after the infrastructure was swept away by the fury of the Monapo River.
The Governor of Nampula province visited the site and promised a solution to the situation soon.
