The Permanent Secretary of Mocuba District in Zambezia province, Elizabete Verboi, revealed on Tuesday (17) that four state officials could be brought to justice for corruption, abuse of office and displaying false certificates.
Speaking in the context of the opening up of the civil service, Verboi said that cases had been recorded this year. Last year, 26 disciplinary cases were registered, of which 20 were sanctioned, two were acquitted due to insufficient evidence and four were closed.
The penalties were relegation, dismissal and expulsion.
"We are concerned about illicit enrichment, harming our colleagues. We're losing a lot of colleagues, which is culminating in disciplinary proceedings and expulsion," he said.
