Renamo won 51% of the votes in Quelimane against 40% for Frelimo, according to a parallel count carried out by the civil society observer consortium Mais Integridade.
This goes directly against the official result of the district electoral commission, which gave Frelimo 50% and Renamo 44%. As in many other places, it seems that the real notices were replaced by fake notices to give Frelimo a false victory.
The notices are posted on polling station doors after the count and observers managed to record the notices for 160 of the 169 polling stations (95%). The parallel count of the real notices gave Renamo 34,542 votes against Frelimo's 28,483, a difference of 6,059 votes. (CIP Elections)
