The new Secretary General of the Association of Combatants of the National Liberation Struggle, ACLLN, will be known today. He will replace Fernando Faustino, who lost his life in November 2024.

At the moment, the ACLLN is meeting at the Frelimo Central School in Matola for the First Extraordinary Session of the organization's National Committee, to elect the ACLLN's secretary-general, among other decisions.

At this point, according to sources quoted by "O País", three names are in the running for the post: Raimundo Diomba, Ágata Tadeu, the current interim secretary-general, and Carlos Siliya.

Also at the same session, led by the party's president, Daniel Chapo, the honorary president of Frelimo, Joaquim Chissano, will declare Daniel Chapo president of the ACLLN, replacing Filipe Nyusi, the former president of the party.
