The national coach of the Mambas, Chiquinho Conde, says that all the strategies outlined for the game against Algeria didn't work.

He acknowledged the power of the Algerian national team and pointed out that they were contenders to win first place in this World Cup qualifying group.

Despite the defeat, the coach guarantees that the Mambas will continue to fight until the end, working to reach the Play-offs in second place.

"It's a dream. Today, the team didn't do well, there are games like that, and we're going to believe that it's possible, so that we can reach second place, to get to the play-off stage," he concluded.

Chiquinho Conde was speaking at a press conference shortly after the match that saw Mozambique lose 5-1, thus complicating their chances of qualifying for the World Cup directly.
