The athlete withdrew from the XVII edition of the Paris-2024 Paralympic Games, citing an injury to her left thigh.
A publication by NewsThe CPM's representative, Sérgio Miguel, said that after an investigation had been opened, medical examinations had shown that the player was not injured.
"The report of the Commission of Inquiry concluded that the withdrawal was intentional and carried out in bad faith, without any external influence," said Sérgio Miguel.
According to the same publication, in addition to the athlete, her coach, Narciso Faquir, was suspended for five years for conniving in the decision not to compete. Both are barred from holding positions related to the Paralympic movement during the period of their suspension.
