CNE submits minutes and centralization notices for the 09 October elections to the Constitutional Council

CNE submete ao Conselho Constitucional as actas e editais de centralização das Eleições de 09 Outubro

Today, the National Electoral Commission (CNE) sent the Constitutional Council the minutes and notices of the results of the October 9 General Elections.

The submission of all the notices and tabulation minutes for the elections was headed by the president of the CNE, Dom Carlos Matsinhe, accompanied by his spokesman and vice-presidents.

On the occasion, the president of the Constitutional Council (CC), Lúcia Ribeiro, guaranteed that she would analyze the documents within 24 days, while the electoral disputes submitted by some parties are resolved.

Last Thursday (24), the CNE announced the victory of Frelimo's presidential candidate, Daniel Chapo, with 70.67% of the votes.

According to the results released by the CNE, Venâncio Mondlane, supported by the Optimist Party for the Development of Mozambique (PODEMOS), came second with 20.32%.
