The president of the National Electoral Commission, Dom Carlos Matsinhe, says that the lack of money is hampering the materialization of the electoral process in Mozambique.
Quoted by O País, Matsinhe revealed that suppliers of goods to electoral bodies are no longer willing to provide services without payment of existing debts.
According to the President, the National Electoral Commission, the electoral bodies owe many service providers.
Without revealing the amount of the debt in question, the source said that the failure to settle the debt had led the companies to decide to close their doors to the electoral bodies.
A situation which, according to the source, compromises the normal course of the electoral administration's activities.
