The third phase of vaccination against COVID-19 begins today and is expected to include people between the ages of 30 and 49 and target groups from previous phases who were not able to be vaccinated.
The process will run until November 3rd and it is expected to vaccinate 200,724 people in Maputo City.
According to the Municipal Health Deputy Director, Emília Cumaquela, in this phase the vaccination posts were reduced from 56, existing in the previous phase, to 18.
"In KaMpfumo district the posts will be located in Praça Da Paz, Jardim Tunduro and Parque dos Continuadores, in KaLhamanculo posts will be fixed in Campo da Base Aérea, Campo do Kapi-Kapi and the Campo da Mogás. KaMaxaquene will have posts in the Mafalala Field, Field 7 de Abril and Secretary of Maxaquene Neighborhood B," Camuquela listed.
He also said that in KaMavota Municipal District the posts will be located in Hulene B Field, Railway Field, and Sporting de Albazine Field, while in KaMubukwana the process will take place in the Zimpeto National Stadium, Bagamoyo Field, and Inhagoia Field.
"KaTembe will have its posts fixed at Chali's Hose Zones and at the Marine Field, finally KaNhaka the vaccination will be done at Chissano's Hose Rally site."
The director says that the locations have reduced, but the number of teams has increased, so there will be 66 teams in total, 63 fixed and three mobile, two in KaTembe district and one in KaNyaKa.
"This reduction was not at random, we intend to concentrate the vaccination teams in those places, which are open and wide, when they get there the citizens will find several teams located in a single point, and we think that this way we will give more flow and avoid what would be agglomerations in teams also dispersed", clarified the source. The vaccine to be administered in this phase will be the Astrazeneca and there will no longer be the process of pre-booking, because it will avoid agglomeration. The vaccination is scheduled to end on November 3rd.
