The Ministry of Labor and Social Security has granted all workers and civil servants in Maputo City time off to celebrate the city's elevation to the status of a city.

The date is November 10, next Friday, and does not cover work that, by its nature, cannot be interrupted.

This year the city of Maputo celebrates its 136th anniversary.
