The President of the Republic congratulates Cape Verde for its willingness to support the Mozambican people affected by cyclone Chido and the violent post-election demonstrations.

In a message posted on his Facebook page, Filipe Nyusi said that the gesture reaffirms the strong bonds of friendship that unite Mozambique and Cape Verde, underpinned by values of solidarity and cooperation.

Still in the same publication, Nyusi believes that Cape Verde's solidarity renews the hope that the two countries together will build a future of resilience, peace and prosperity.

Cyclone Chido entered Mozambique on Sunday (20) through Mecúfi, with winds of around 260 kilometers per hour. It hit the provinces of Nampula and Niassa, Sofala and Tete, causing several deaths. It destroyed various public and private infrastructures.
