In Niassa province, heavy rains and strong winds destroyed 18 schools of conventional, mixed and precarious construction, affecting more than four thousand students.
The situation also affects 181 teachers.
The provincial director of Education in Niassa, Alocre Jaime, said that in order to ensure the continuity of the teaching-learning process, the province received from the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) several materials, including school tents.
"The material has already been allocated to the districts that registered destruction of classrooms, in order to give continuity to the teaching-learning process," he said.
