Separated from Chiquinho Conde after taking part in the CHAN-2022, played between January and February 2023, Eduardo Jumisse was always a personal bet of the coach and he made sure he was part of his technical team.

A publication by Challenge newspaper says that behind Jumisse's dismissal is the strike that took place in Algeria, in which the players refused to board the flight back to their country because they were allegedly demanding an increase in the amount they would receive for taking part in the event.

At the time, in addition to Jumisse, the Mozambican Football Federation (FMF) preventively suspended players Isac de Carvalho, Telinho, Kito, Shaquille and Chico Muchanga. The working group demanded that the FMF increase the prize for qualifying for the quarter-finals of the CHAN-2022, which should be 60% of the 400,000 US dollars awarded by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to all the teams that made it past the first phase of that event.

At the end of the controversy, the five players had their suspensions lifted, but Jumisse was definitively removed from the "Mambas" coaching staff.
