Chiquinho Conde foresees tough game against Guinea-Bissau, but "the goal is to win"

Chiquinho Conde antevê jogo difícil diante da Guiné-Bissau, mas “o objectivo é ganhar”

The national soccer coach, Chiquinho Conde, assumes that the purpose and objective of this Tuesday's (10) match against Guinea-Bissau is to win.

The two teams meet this Tuesday at 3pm in Maputo, at the Zimpeto National Stadium, for the second round of Group "I" qualifying for CAN Morocco-2025.

The Mozambican coach, despite admitting difficulties due to the fact that the opponent is valuable and has one more day's rest than the "Mambas", assumes that the purpose and objective behind this match is to win.

"The game against Guinea is going to be tough, but we're the boss at home and we'll have to go after them. With the support of our fans, I'm convinced we'll beat the Guinea-Bissau team. That's our goal and that's our purpose," said Chiquinho Conde.

According to the Challenge newspaperGuinea-Bissau lead the way with three points, thanks to last Thursday's 1-0 win over Eswatini.

For their part, the "Mambas" remain in second place with one point, the result of a draw the following day, Friday, at home to Mali, who are now in third place. Here, Eswatini hold the red bottom with no points.

After the game in Mali, the "Mambas" began their journey back to Maputo the following day. They spent Saturday night in Addis Ababa and landed in the country's capital on Sunday afternoon. As a result, the Mambas only had one training session in Maputo today (Monday) ahead of Monday's match.
