Available data indicates that Cabo Delgado has been suffering from a lack of corroborants since last week, but it is only in the last 72 hours that the scenario has become more noticeable, due to the depletion of reserves in most of the pumps, especially in the city of Pemba.
Until yesterday, the situation tended to normalize, with the arrival of the ship carrying 1,050 metric tons of diesel and petrol. Speaking to the press, Bruno Pinheiro, Petromoc's representative in the northern region, said that the crisis was due to the delay in the tanker's arrival, for reasons he did not explain.
Bruno Pinheiro said that "we had a slight delay in the arrival of the tanker, but at the moment the problem has been resolved because the fuel has already been unloaded at our facilities, we are dealing with the administrative processes with a view to supplying our main customers and I believe that everything will be resolved in the next few hours."
According to Integrity, which quotes "Notícias", the ship unloaded 700 metric tons of diesel and 350 metric tons of gasoline at the port of Pemba, at Petromoc's facilities.
The lack of fuel, especially gasoline, meant that informal vendors who had it in stock sold it at a price of 200 meticais/liter. It should be noted that the situation has seriously affected motorcycle cab operators(Integrity)
