Head of state demands new government to fight corruption

Chefe do Estado exige combate à corrupção  do novo Governo

This Saturday (18.01), the President of the Republic, Daniel Chapo, demanded a fight against corruption, transparency and good governance, after swearing in the new ministers.

He focused his speech on the fight against corruption, saying that it eats away at the fabric of the state and the people, so "we urge you to be at the forefront of the fight against the misuse of public assets; of ghost employees, of simulated tenders to favor friends, families, colleagues".

He also recommended that his party be united and work together to develop the country and respond to the wishes of the Mozambican population.

"You should read the President of the Republic's inauguration speech and keep it with you, because it embodies the manifesto presented during the election campaign," said Chapo.

He warned the new recruits to avoid unnecessary trips. And more. He said that their trips must be authorized by the President of the Republic.
