The President of the Republic of Angola, João Lourenço, justified today (10) the cancellation of several tenders that had been delivered to companies linked to Isabel dos Santos with the savings achieved, ensuring that the law is now complied with.
The Head of State, who gave a collective interview to 12 Angolan media, was responding to the questioning of one of the journalists who questioned the use of simplified contracting (direct adjustment) for the execution of works worth millions of dollars and emphasized that, contrary to what happened in the past, public tenders are now being held.
João Lourenço, without naming names, did not spare his predecessor in office, José Eduardo dos Santos, who was President of Angola for 38 years, and attributed to his children, namely the businesswoman Isabel dos Santos, control over several strategic areas of the Angolan economy.
"I also have children and I will not hand over (works) to any of my children," said the Angolan President, quoted by Lusa and the newspaper Notícias, who then listed several projects of the previous government that ended up being cancelled during his mandate.
