Chapo says that the candidates for the Africa constituency must be up to the national challenges

Chapo diz que os candidatos a deputado pelo círculo de África devem estar à altura dos desafios nacionais

Frelimo's acting secretary general, Daniel Chapo, said that the candidates for the Assembly of the Republic for the Africa regional constituency must be up to the national and global challenges.

Chapo's message, who was speaking during the Africa regional conference, also extended to the alternate candidates, who he said must also responsibly ensure the interests of the Mozambican people.

"We hope that candidates for deputies and alternates elected by the majority will emerge from here and that they will have the national interest at heart," he said, as quoted by "O País".

The Frelimo presidential candidate said that he hoped the candidates would represent the aspirations and feelings of the Mozambican people, especially in the African countries where they live.

Also quoted by the newspaper, Daniel Chapo said that the regional conference will deepen the party's strategy for the general elections on October 9, in which the party predicts a "landslide victory".
