The movement of rail passengers by railcars in Marracuene, Boane and Matola Gare, in Maputo, will be subject to new timetables from August 10.

The decision comes two years after the introduction of rail passenger services by railcars, with the aim of improving service provision and punctuality.

According to a statement from Caminhos de Ferro de Moçambique (CFM), train number 501, departing from Maputo downtown station and bound for Marracuene, will leave at 17:30 and arrive at 18:35. In the morning, train number 500 will depart at 06:05 and arrive at 07:10.

Meanwhile, on the Maputo-Matola Gare route, train number 101 will leave the station at 5:37 p.m. and arrive at Matola Gare at 6:17 p.m., completing a 40-minute journey.

In the opposite direction, in the morning, train number 100 will leave Matola Gare at 06.20 and arrive at 07.00.

Finally, on the route between Maputo and Boane, train number 200 will depart from the town of Boane at 06:15 and arrive in Baixa at around 07:20. In the afternoon, the train will leave Maputo at 17.15 and is scheduled to arrive in Boane at 18.20.
