About 500,000 people in the southern part of the country will benefit from water supply and basic infrastructure to be built in the arid and semi-arid areas under the Climate Insurance, Finance and Resilience Project.
According to Notícias, 15 dug reservoirs and 20 multifunctional water supply systems will be built in the districts of Mabote, Funhalouro and Panda, in Inhambane, in a project that will also cover some districts in Maputo and Gaza province.
The project was launched last Thursday in the village of Mavume, Panda district, by the president of the National Institute for Disaster Risk Reduction Management (INGD), Luisa Meque.
According to the governor, the initiative is of great importance, taking into account the effects and impacts of climate change, with negative consequences in the agricultural sector.
