Caso Cardoso: Aníbal “Anibalzinho” Jr. sai em liberdade

Aníbal dos Santos Jr, better known as "Anibalzinho", is now free after serving a 24-year prison sentence, according to TTV, which was unable to capture images of Aníbal's departure.

He and other defendants were accused and convicted of orchestrating the murder of Mozambican journalist Carlos Cardoso in November 2000. Aníbal was identified as the perpetrator of the crime.

Anibalzinho "escaped" from jail twice, supposedly with the help of "powerful people".

At the time of his death, Carlos Cardoso was investigating a $14 million fraud linked to the privatization of national banks in the 90s.
