Around 4,200 customers have been without electricity in the Luís Cabral neighborhood since yesterday afternoon, after a heavy vehicle overturned a medium-voltage power line in the Maquinaque area of Maputo city.

In a statement, EDM said that technical teams are on the ground removing the lines knocked down by the truck, with a view to ensuring the mobility of the road and restoring the normal electricity supply to the affected area as soon as possible.

However, EDM also warned that during the period of technical intervention, all electrical installations should be considered permanently live.
