The Mozambican partner of Isco Segurança refuses to reveal the value of the contract with the French multinational, TotalEnergies, to protect the natural gas exploration project in Area 4 of the Rovuma basin, in Cabo Delgado province.

According to a widely publicized Financial Times article, Isco Segurança is the Mozambican company owned by a Mozambican partner linked to the Frelimo party. The company is associated with the Rwandan security firm Isco Global Limited, which has strong links with President Paul Kagame's party. In turn, Isco Global Limited controls Intersec Securit Company, also from Rwanda, which is a subsidiary of Crystal Venture. The latter was founded by Paul Kagame's RPF party.
In Mozambique, Isco Global Limited controls 70% of Isco Segurança and the remaining 30% are owned by Osman Yacob SGPS, S.A.
Cited by STVThe director of Osma Yacob SGPS, S.A, M. Assif Osman, explained that the contract in question was preceded by a public tender in which five companies took part, with Isco Segurança submitting the best bid.
Osman Yacob claims "obvious reasons" for not detailing the amounts of the contract with the French multinational. On the other hand, he says that he wants to allow the distribution of dividends for the time being. He also said that the amounts reported about the contract are "unreasonable". (Image: DR)
